We’re Deborah and Kenneth Northcutt of Plainfield, IL. We are two regular people like you and proud parents ourselves of two grown young men.
Kenneth
I was born in Georgia until my family moved to New York
when I was five years old. I graduated from high school and left to serve my
country in the United States Army at age eighteen. I’ve toured in Tacoma,
Washington and Berlin, Germany for five years. After being discharged from the
Army, I returned to the United States and attended college in the Mid-West
where I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. My professional background
is in Information and Engineering Technology. I’ve worked in a corporate
setting as an Electrical Engineer, Systems Engineer, Business Process Analyst
(BPA), and Business System Analyst.
My volunteer services include Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in
such capacities as Den Leader, Cub Master, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Scoutmaster
which has been quite an experience for the development and the growth of our
young men. I am also proud and honored to be a parent of an Eagle Scout for
BSA. I continue to serve as the Advancement Chairperson for my troop’s
committee. I’m still involved in the scouting community as the National
Transportation Co-chairperson for the Association of African Methodist
Episcopal Scouts (AAMES). They’ve held sponsored events in the following
cities; Nashville TN, Chicago IL, Columbus OH, Cassopolis MI, and Washington,
DC.
Deborah
I was born and raised in the state of Illinois. I obtained an
Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Human Resource Management. My
background has been as an Administrative Assistant, Insurance Representative,
Human Resource Coordinator, Entrepreneur (Business Owner of a
Coffeehouse/Restaurant), Teacher of Runway Modeling, and Office Manager at a
Chamber of Commerce. My passion is helping women and children. Therefore,
selling quality baby strollers is a perfect fit for me because it’s rewarding
to help families by giving them exceptional customer service.
Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood. It started when
I was a child selling Christmas cards door to door. Then I became a brownie and
worked my way up to a Cadet in the Girl Scouts organization. The experience
taught me discipline and the importance of helping people. For seven years I
was involved with the Big Brothers and Little Sisters Organization. I mentored
a nine-year old boy from a single mother household until he was fifteen years old.
It was a joy watching him grow up and become a young man. We are still friends
to this day. I think that I learned more from him than he learned from me! I’ve
also volunteered for schools and other organizations, such as coat drives for
orphan children and collecting school supplies for single mothers.
After being downsized from “Corporate America” for the fifth
time, I decided that I had enough. It was time to get serious and start working
for myself. That has always been my dream. Mahatma Gandhi said, “To believe in
something and not live it is dishonest.” Therefore, informing and teaching my
customers about baby strollers with integrity is my passion. It’s what I
believe, and I hope that you will too.
Kenneth and Deborah have been married for four (4) wonderful years.
When our sons’ were small, strollers were a lot different than they are now. You didn’t have the variety of baby strollers to choose from, such as jogging strollers, twin strollers, strollers with shock wheels, or swivel wheel strollers. Strollers were not made very sturdy and didn’t have all of the safety features that strollers are known to have now and are required by law. There were very little storage compartments on strollers for your diaper bags, purse, toys and baby bottles. As the baby strollers evolved, the products used for them have also evolved like baskets, netting, carrying bags, etc. This means a tremendous step forward in the development of baby stroller attachments, increasing comfort and convenience to make your life much easier. I am really impressed with the strollers that are made and sold today. Strollers have come a long way since our sons’ were babies and are more trendier and versatile now.
