Britax Car Seat: Britax 2016 B-Agile 3/B-Safe 35 Elite Travel System, Domino Reviews

Is your child worth the money to protect them? (By T. Luna)

I will say I am about to be a first time father and my wife is expecting in less than 20 days. When I started researching car seats and which ones are the safest, every website was bowing down and praising Britax. I went on YouTube and researched user reviews and reviews on Amazon. Every person had nothing but great things to say about Britax. One reviewer on Amazon even shared a horror story of how he was driving with his little one and a dumb person ran a red light and T-boned him with his little one in the back seat. An obvious situation he could not avoid. He showed the pictures of his totaled car and it was bad but he said that thanks to the Britax b safe car seat his little one walked away without a scratch. That was the final review for me and I went ahead and purchased one. Now I hope and pray that I will never have to write a follow up review like that and everything will be ok but I will say you can not control everything and sometimes things are out of your control. In that event I want my little guy to be the most protected and that’s why money is not even a factor in this purchase. No amount of money is worth me trying to save a few bucks and risking something happening to my future son. So I went with the b-safe 35 elite. It came in through Amazon and I can tell just from the structure of this car seat and ones that I have seen in stores this one is far superior than the rest. Not only that, but it was super easy to install in the back seat. I was nervous it would take over ten mins to install but to my surprise it took less than 45 seconds to install. Britax made it super easy even for the parent who isn’t the brightest bulb.
I went ahead and purchased the b-agile stroller to go with the b-safe for easy convenience on me and the wife and I will say, I remember my little sister being in a stroller when I was younger and helping push it around. Technology has improved and this stroller does 360’s perfectly. Not saying I will be doing donuts with my little guy in it but it’s good to know if I need to turn around the stroller will not give me any problems and will be easy to maneuver. The car seat easily detaches from the base in the car with one click of a button and snaps right into the stroller with one click. My wife also loved how much top canopy the stroller has to protect our little one from the sun. The car seat came completely assembled and the stroller practically was too. The stroller took less than 2 mins to assemble and took more time to unpack from the box. I am super excited to meet my little guy here shortly and am satisfied knowing that he will be protected in the car and will enjoy smooth rides in the stroller. I personally broke my bank buying this set as I am in no way shape or form a rich or well off man but you can not put a price on your child’s safety. I will gladly keep making payments on my credit card to pay this off and know that my son has the safest options available in the event something happens. It’s better to have the safest option and not need it than to have something happen and wish I wasn’t cheap when it came to my child’s safety.

Don’t get the elite or go for Chicco instead (By TDutts10)

I’m sorry to say that I’m disappointed with this travel system, especially the car seat. I thoroughly agree with those saying it is too narrow & wish I had taken those complaints more seriously before buying. My normal sized 2 month old is absolutely smushed in this seat & we have difficulty getting her in & out of it. I have to get my hands in there and twist her to get her in or out. We live in south Florida and the baby bakes inside the seat with tight space & limited air flow. The dark black colors don’t help. Even if we go for a short walk she & the seat are soaked in sweat. The stroller is doable. The bottom storage is very small & we have to jam our diaper backpack in there to fit. I think the older B-Agile stroller model had better aspects such as the zipper pocket, reflector material, foot step, and if I remember correctly from test drives the canopy was better/easier. I can’t afford buying multiple $300++ stroller systems so I’m stuck with this one. The baby will probably grow out of the car seat in the next few months. The closest baby store is 3 plus hours away so testing is an issue. I really wish I could’ve tested this in person before buying. If I could do it over I would’ve bought the non- Elite seat or gone for the Chicco Key Fit. We have since tried a friend’s Chicco Key Fit car seat (few years old) to compare how the baby fits & she is far more comfortable in the Chicco & it’s much easier to get her in and out which is especially important when she’s sleeping or already fussy. Also, the Chicco’s single strap on the car seat base bottom was much easier to install then the Britax. I haven’t been able to try the new comparable Chicco stroller in order to give an opinion.

Recipients loved it (By Mary)

Ordered as a gift, and the recipients absolutely love it. This system is very highly rated for safety and ease of use. It folds easily and can be folded with one hand YAY. The set can be used from newborn to toddler.

Build a system for Baby, not for paranoid parents (By Alec Baldwin Cobb)

As a first time parent, I looked to obtain a safe and complete system as possible, figuring I’ll obtain the needed accessories as we go.
This is actually a nice system which includes the basics such as car seat, base and stroller.
Car seat.
It seems to be well constructed and I’m pretty confident that Britax had every paranoid parent in mind when designing this release/model. But the truth is, both parents and Britax have gone too far without actually thinking about Baby. The harness system is easy enough to follow when placing your baby in the seat however, the design has its shortcomings. Was this seat created only for newborn to 1 month old?? The way the harness is designed leaves little room, and I mean little, to actually place our 3 month daughter in. The straps are supposed to be brought over the shoulders but there is not enough lag to do this for our daughter who is now 12lbs and 23 inches tall. There is a release button to provide more harness lag but some genius secured a metal clamp on the back which limits the lag to 4 inches and even then, it only provides lag from left to right, stealing from Peter to pay Paul.
Providing a longer harness strap, one that you can still tighten would have been ideal.
The cushions of the car seat are too snug. For all of the paranoid parents out there, relax. Your cry for ridiculous level safety has made Britax so paranoid that they designed a car seat that only a Cabbage Patch Kid can fit into. I didn’t have a car seat when I was kid. I had a lap and then a yellow pages phone book. All car seats are tested for safety and monitored heavily for defects. Enough with the more safe cries.
The stroller.
It is built nicely, easy to use and transport.
It does not come with any accessories which is fine however, a seat cushion should not be an accessory on a stroller. Until your little grows into it, your baby will slide to one side due to having no seat cushion. Britax overdoes the car seat cushions so much that they neglected the stroller. In the car seat, your baby will be securely squished into the seat but in the stroller, your baby will slide from one side to other.
The harness in the stroller needs one upgrade, the bottom/middle strap which the buckle is attached to. Would it hurt Britax to add a thin pad to this strap, which sits inbetween Baby’s legs?? Would you want to ride around with a 1 inch strap riding up your crotch?
