Chicco Standard Stroller Chicco Urban Stroller – Emerald Reviews

Beautiful but slightly impractical (By audrey)

I chose this stroller as my main stroller for my 5month old fussy baby. We originally had a graco modes click connect which we loved but it lacked style so that’s the reason we chose the chicco urban for a second since we are now having her grandma take her during the day.( she has the graco modes click connect now) This stroller was more affordable compared to other brands such as the bugaboo.

Likes:

it’s really modern in design and the base color of black allows you to match and coordinate with the color packs which I love! It came in the blue color but I got the pink pack in addition! Five stars for that.

Easy to turn. Large wheels in the back and seems pretty smooth even on uneven parking lots which we have a lot of here in San Francisco.

Really sturdy feeling break step in the back and semi sturdy feeling individual front breaks.

Simple to transition from bassinet to seat by buckles which are all easily accessible with one hand.

Dislikes:

the base is really wide compared to the actual bassinet and seat area. We have a five month old so right now the bassinet fits fine but it just seems narrow compare to how wide the base is. No big deal though. Feels very sturdy and definitely has some good weight to it. Four stars still even with the strange proportions.

It’s NOT easy to fold up! Comparing this to the graco modes click connect that we also have, you first must put the handle back to the original short position, then use both hands to fold down the stroller. Oh yea did I mention that you also must remove the seat?!
We have a highlander and this stroller alone takes up most of our trunk space :( also, if you have a fussy baby like mines, good luck with folding the stroller down while holding your baby in one arm…I’m very disappointed. 2 stars…

When you fold the stroller base down, it doesn’t balance itself or "stand". Again this just means you need to have both hands while popping up and putting down the stroller. 1 star..

The cup holder it comes with is so narrow it will only fit a bottle like the Dr. Brown kind. You will not be able to use it for anything larger than that or a standard plastic water bottle. Where will I put my ice coffee? So sad 2 stars…

The basinet in not easily accessible when your child faces towards you! My how far I have to reach under her seat and also, if you have a large diaper bag, it’s not going to fit. I use those diaper wristlet changing pad things so its fine for me but my purse if semi full will not go under there! They need to somehow extend or widen the opening to this stroller basket! But as for the quality of the basket, it’s well made and the bottom is not flimsy at all.

Overall I would not recommend this stroller to a friend unless they are in love with the look. It has many kinks that I think chicco needs to work out but I myself will keep this stroller because I like the design. This stroller is not user friendly and is a little heavy. Beware! I think the design is beautiful and the design focused on the comfort of the child which is great and no complaints there but for $400 chicco really forgot about keeping the parents in mind.

Love the look and the fabric is soft (By Jeremy B)

Love the look and the fabric is soft. But the stroller is too hard to open! I can hardly do it by myself without hitting the handle on the ground. Also, wish the car seat adaptor wasn’t separate. We have already left to do errands and forgot the connector so we couldn’t use the stroller. I like the stroller concept, but it doesn’t work well.

Best stroller money can buy (By elsa bejines)

Great stroller! We’ve been using it for almost a year now (our son is 10 months old) and we love that we can use it with our car seat when he falls asleep during a drive or the bassinet now that he’s bigger. Yes it’s a little bulky but it definitely makes up with everything else. We have a jogger and we use this one even on a run because it’s so much smoother!

Love Love Love (By Amazon Customer)

I love this stroller!! It doesn’t come with a carseat but it did come with the connection piece if you already have a keyfit 30 carseat! I purchased mine at a baby box store (cheaper), but I absolutely love the bassinet feature. I’ve already recommended to many! Love the chicco brand and their quality.

Not worth this price (By Virginia)

Bought it at Babies’r’us for $320 ( we had 20% off) and it’s still NOT WORTH IT.
Pros:
Turns well.
You can maneuver it easily with one hand.
Cons:
Basket is hard to reach due to it’s liner being too high.
No suspension or shock absorbing wheels so you can feel every bump.
Not practical to fold! The bassinet rests on 2 flimsy handles and for the base you need 2 hands to fold it and then it doesn’t stand on it’s own.
Read Audrey’s review from May 3rd, she nailed it. It’s stylish but that’s it.
I thought that for this price we would have a better quality than the same product at WalMart ($200) but I doubt it.
